what do we think the covers of the books mean

WELCOME!!

We are going to be discussing what we think the covers of the books mean.

Lets start with Twilight.
I think the apple means the first time Edward and Bella sat together at lunch when she found out he was a vampire thought-out his talking she was holding a apple.

New Moon.
I think the flower with a petal falling of means Bella think "he loves me, he loves me not". I think she means he as Jacob AND Edward cause they both abandoned her.

Eclipse.
The ribbon I think means the broken connection with Jacob. I think it also means the knot she is about to tie to Edward.

Breaking Dawn.
The white piece is of a QUEEN on a chess board they are the most prized and the most fragile like Bella. The red piece is Edward.

um.... the first three have meanings on stephenie meyer's site i think....

um... I know Twilight has a meaning written up there, and it's actually tied into the whole forbidden fruit thing... because Bella and Edward shouldn't really be together, so the other is to each a forbidden fruit...

as for New Moon, I'm not sure if the meaning's there, but when I look at the cover, I see that the petal falling off is a tear shape and also that the flower is upside down, the petals falling off like it's falling apart or dying, sort of like Bella when Edward left.

as for Eclipse I believe that the ribbon is basically Bella, and it tearing is showing her indecision and tearing of her heart between both Edward and Jacob.

as for Breaking dawn, my thoughts are a little bit all over the place, seeing as I haven't read the book yet (duh!) but there's a few ways I look at it. One: you see a pawn in the background, which isn't really a hugely important piece in the game of chess, this piece represents Bella as a human, only able to move forward. The queen represents Bella as a vampire, a stronger piece, a more important piece and able to do more. Two: Chess isn't a very easy game, this chess board signifies Bella's life, complicated and full of unexpected moves, the pieces signify the thoughts in her head, the queen being bigger and close up showing her thoughts about, Edward, the Cullens and becoming a vampire, and the pawn in the background showing her thoughts about Jacob, still always at the back of her mind. Three: the chess pieces could show Bella's indecision between Edward and Jacob, chess is full of many decisions and many moves can be made, which move should she make?

New Moon- No meaning whatsoever (Confirmed by Stephenie)

Eclipse- Letting go of a part of yourself. Becoming something/ someone else. (Bella letting go of 'Jacob's Bella)

Breaking Dawn - One move can alter everything. Be careful of your actions because one thing can change everything. (IDK just a hunch)


TITLES

Twilight- Twilight is Edward's favorite time of day hehe

New Moon- When Edward leaves Bella, its her darkest night Therefore, like the night of a new moon.

Eclipse - Jacob quote!

Breaking Dawn - Bella becoming who she is destined to be. HEr future is beginning.

this is just a stupid thought but itz only half of what in thinking.

Bella the little red piece meaning shes changed but then I think even tho the queen piece is suppossed to be stronger and dominant the red piece is slowy overpowering the queen one step at a time so I think something bad is happening to to Bella thats making her stronger

Maybe in the "Official Guide" by Stephanie Meyers thats comming out in December everything will be confirmed and maybe she will go more into it

yeah, that could be.... (both of you^^) but the little red piece can also show Bella's willingness to protect her family, I mean the pieces are two different colors, two different teams, the queen which is strong can symbolize Bella and the little red piece could symbolize the enemies they face (trying not to give much away, Sam's reading the book right beside me....)
