here's my banner that I just made today!

That is gorgeous.

But I'm going to point out some things since this is a critique thread.

The pink text (sometimes the forbidden fruit tastes the sweetest) stands out a bit too much. Perhaps lower the opacity by five or ten percent. Alice gave me this tip a while back: when you're doing text, use a color that is already in the banner. Most programs have a little syringe tool that will pick a color out of the banner for you. (if that makes any sense...)

And in the slide after that, only part of the twilight text is showing. What's up with that? Rob also looks a little out of place. The lighting is just different. If you have photoshop you might try adding some sort of glow to him, or selective coloring.

I agree, I think the color of the text is a little too 'popish' you want something that stands out, but not something that clashes way too much... other than that I think it's pretty good.... good job!

Critique??

Personally, I love this banner as is. It could be improved though.

1) Move the orange text down just a teensie little bit so that it's completely visible

2) Add a one or two pixel border on the edge

3) The graph paper-ish texture is a little too light in some parts. It's awesome, but you can hardly see it. Try making it a little darker.

4) I can't tell where the background ends and the shoes start! Making the texture on the background a bit darker would help with this too.

Keep in mind I'm being VERY picky, and that your banner is GORGEOUS! Keep making more!!!!

Okay this is the first blend ive ever made im not good at it at all in my opinion.

That's UH-MAY-ZING for a first blend. Seriously. However, the erasing between the two people (even if they are the same person) is a little too vague, if that makes sense. You cut out weird parts of the person on the left, and it looks like the person on the right is blurred a little too much. Try taking a little (okay, maybe a lot) more time on the eraser work and use a small, hard brush, zooming in a ton, so that you can show the whole person. If you still want to blur effect, try a radial blur.

Also, to add a border in photoshop, flatten the completed graphic, push Ctrl and A (apple and a if you have a mac), then go to Edit >> Stroke.

Great work though! You'll be a master blender/banner maker in no time!

I didnt erase at all. Thats weird. I blurred though cus they were on top of eachother and you could notice a little too much IMO.

O_O You didn't erase at all? Wow. My blur tool never works like that. Perhaps you should try that, erase VERY carefully instead of just blurring. And if you want to have space between them, try resizing a little bit (Ctrl T, change the percents).

You can also try blending with layer masks instead of blurring, that could help with the little bit of his head that looks out of focus (on the left side of the right person). Just add a layer mask (the weird rectangle with a circle in it on the layers pallet) and then a gradient.

I'd love to see what you come up with later! You're really good!

And SONIA! I'm disappointed in you! Rosalie's are confident! They're even a bit conceited! They don't say someone is better than them, they say someone is great, or in Alice's case, they bow down. Don't say bad things about yourself, say good things about other people. There are very few exceptions to this rule. You are allowed to say Alice is better than you. Viry too. And Madz.
