URG! I totally love that you are still doing things on this thread, but please Please PLEASE do as the assignment said and USE SECOND PERSON! You awaken this morning for the first time, wondering if you can survive to do the same thing the next. You glance around at your family members, each looking the same as you do, who are parading around a blade of grass. You feel...hungry. You smell sugar.

You somehow communicate with the rest of your hill, who seemed to have smelled the same luxurious smell too. You find yourself marching in a straight line dodging each blade of grass as it comes.

"Shoo! Shoo! I told you not to leave that out!" You hear a screaming Mom in the distance.

There's a thumping noise, getting louder and louder. You feel it get close to you and...

That was the last thing you felt. Your life lasted a morning.

haha nice! thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU for using second person. So many people have written great things on this thread, but they don't meet the criteria for the assignment. There were a few little issues I had, but all in all, it was very, very good! You would get an A- or a B+ from me!

Cat

You awake to sun in your eyes. Blinding, beautiful, warm sun is what it was. You yawn the biggest you ever had at your awakening. Your human is still in bed. She stirred; shaking the bed and making you bounce. You stretched, resting on your hind legs and stretching your arms out so far! You then rest on your front legs and stretched out your back legs, yawning again when you do. You walked up to the pillow on the bed, being your quietest so you wouldn’t awake the one you love. You look at her. She is lying on her back. You decide to go and rest on her stomach; you have always found it was warmer then the spot on the end of the bed. You put one paw on her stomach and then the other one. She stirs under your paws, so you pull away. You wait until she stopped and was still and then climb back onto her. Resting in a ball position when you do. She seemed comfortable, so you decide to go back to sleep. She then stirred again and you don’t bother to get off. She noticed you being on her and started put a hand on my back. Her touch was so warm. You open your eyes and she was smiling at you. You love when humans smile. It makes you feel like they’re happy and that makes you happy. Wow, you wish you could smile. You feel a hand above your head from your whiskers and look up to meet it. A hand strokes from my forehead all the way down my back. You rest into your ball form again and wished she didn’t have to get up.

I know that i'm not that good even though my boyfriend tells me other wise. So i'll try my hand at it.

It is still very early in the morning. You wake up and try to get your owner up, but that dosent wok, Amber won't wake up she sleeps like the dead. So you go to the closed door and you start to paw at it. Finally after 10 minutes, your owners mother gets up and takes care of you by feeding you. You are finally happy, and you fall back to sleep till the next time.

Animal: A dog in a puppy mill.

You can't seem to rest. There's always the whines and barks of your fellow cage mates to wake you up. You slowly lift yourself up, and whimper softly. Your back legs are broken, and you tenderly try to take a step, and regret it. You lurch forward and wobble unsteadily for a few seconds, then fall over again. A brown and white dog with a cut face comes over to and licks your face. You try to stand again, and inspect your surroundings. The cage is rather large, but it's crowded with about twenty or so dogs that it seems tiny. You think it's morning, but you can't tell. There is a foul smell that reeks all over the cage. Suddenly, a door opens and a scruffy man enters. All the dogs go wild. The man opens the cage, shoves a bowl of muddy water and a bowl of scraps in, and then locks the cage again. The man leaves. This is your daily ration, and you are trampled as all the dogs hurry to the food and water. You can't walk, so you are starved. The same brown and white dog trots over and sets a few scraps of food at your feet. You are grateful and thank the dog with a soft bark. After eating, you curl up into a ball and close your eyes. This is how you spend your days. There is no hope for you. All you can do is wait for tomorrow.

Animal= A baby tiger's encounter with a poacher

Gunshot. You instinctively sink to the ground. You start to rise but your mother shoves you down and growls. The message is clear- stay put. She stretches her long arms and bounds away into the forest, towards the noise. She is a silent hunter. Another gunshot. You and your sisters and brothers wince. You look up, hoping, praying that she is alive. You take a breath when you see her slinking closer to the human. You see your mother pounce at the hunter. A third gunshot. You look in panic for the striped face you know so well but you can't see her, your mother, your life. The hunter spits to the ground and walks away, gun in hand. As soon as he is far enough away, you and your siblings run towards where you last saw your mother. She is on the ground, shot down, dead. Your sisters and brothers huddle together. You are scared. There is nothing. You know you are going to die.
