Here is your first assignment.

You are some sort of animal--dog, cat, horse, iguana,whatever. Write an short essay describing a typical day in your shoes (umm, do animals wear shoes?? I guess a horse would), or paws, or--well, you get the idea. Use lots of adjectives--be descriptive!!!

Use the second person point of view (for those of you who do not know what this is, see the example) in your paragraph.

Example:

You slowly ease out of your dog bed. It's a good thing your thirteenth birthday is coming up, you really need a new one, as the padding on the old one has worn thin. You hobble over to your bowl--you're really too old for this kind of thing--and eat the food that was put there early this morning by Maggie, your mistress. You finish eating and crawl back into your still-warm bed. You sleep until you hear the door bang open and Maggie call, "Juno! I'm home!" Then you bound out of your bed, with surprising agility for a dog of nearly thirteen, to greet her. You jump up and put your paws on her shoulders--you can almost hear your bones creaking, and you see your favorite thing in the world--her face breaking into a giant smile. "Nice to see you, too." She gently eases you off of her and goes to get the leash. A walk! You let her slip the collar around your neck and off you go. You stay out until it starts getting dark. When you get home, you lay down until you hear the clatter of dog food being poured into your monogrammed porcelain dish. You jump up, eat, and follow Maggie into her room to do her homework. You sit there until it is completely dark outside. When she shuts out the light in her room, you find your dog bed and crawl back in for another night.

Everybody understand?? Oh right, I almost forgot. Have fun with it!!!

Any animal right? Okay I choose a Jaguar. A to be exact...

You creep carefully through the savanna keeping your gaze locked on the hopeless herd of gazelles in front of you. Your muscles tense, ready for the attack but you manage to control yourself. "not yet" you remind yourself "get closer." Moving inch by inch, warry of anything that might snap under your paws, you approach the outskirts of the herd. One of the younger less experienced gazzeles decides to stray a bit leaving the saftey of the heard. You would laugh if it wouldent give a way your position. Blinded by hunger you take one mistep and a thin branch snaps under your paw. Hundreds of heads turn your way then run swiftly in the other direction! Cursing your luck you bound out of your hiding place and surge towards the young gazzele that got seperated from the larger herd. You jump claws extended, you can almost taste your victory! And then at the last moment the youngster kicks out at you catching you squarely in the chest. You yowl out in pain and tumble to the ground while the herd dissapears into hte high grasses. "Oh well" you think "Maybe next time. I'm still the best hunter around"

WHEW! okay that was fun! So theres my assignment. Sorry for any gramatical mistakes or spelling errors. Hope you like it!

okay, you're a puppy in an animal shelter

You wake up earlier than usual and no one is here yet. You are instantly full of energy and wake up the old dog next to you by barking. You here the bell ring meaning Lucy, the shelter owner, was here. You start barking louder and wake up everyone else. Lucy comes over feeds everyone, you are fourth. Then other humans come in to take you and others for walks. You are picked by a small boy who is shy, and his father. You immedetally jump up to lick him and he starts to cry. You are put back in your cage sad and confused. Another, more outgoing boy comes over and yells for his mother. They take you for a walk. Its sunny, but you can smell the rain coming. You're turning back for home when it starts to rain. You and the boy run back and once there he begs his mother to keep you but she says they cant hanndle another dog. Lucy puts you back in your cage. A man comes in. He talks quietly to Lucy. Lucy picks you up and says "Congratulations, you have a new home. You will be a seeing dog for this man's little girl." You are driven to the new home and meet the little girl, Sally. She hugs you and shows you around the house and explains that she can get around in the house if no one moves things. You are given dinner and then off to the bed. You fall asleep next to Sally.

I agree the people I used to share my writting with were harsh so I just didn't show anyone what I wrote anymore (until now that is) but don't worry we won't critisize you. And by the way that story was excellent!

when people criticize my writing they always go right for the parts that I think are perfect
I don't want to do that to anybody.

Assignment One

Nothing could be better than today. You had just woken up. The crisp morning air of Colorado felt good to you. Your shoes needed to be replaced for it had been six months. Heavy, iron shoes that are freshly made feel good on your feet. You let that pass back to the back of your mind. You drank some cool, fresh water and ate some hay. Now, your ready for your day to begin.
You walked out of your stable and into the ring. Your favorite rider, Kendra, walked up to and brushed you. You were saddled up and the day of lessons began. You were always well behaved and performed well... besides for the one and only Kagura. She was rough and never listened. You acted stubborn around her so she'd leave.
After the lessons, you walk back to your stable and go tosleep. Tomorrow would repeat istself like it always should.
