| Alright! So, I know a lot of us here are actors and actresses in our 'real' lives. If you have ever acted in a play, please post here with a paragraph or two about which play you preformed in, how old you were, what role you took, and what your experience was like! If you have acted in more than one play, please write about those too! Each and every performance is different. Maybe you didn't act? That's good too! There are so many more aspects of a play that make a successful performance. Maybe you helped out with stage crew, moving the props around between scenes? Or perhaps you were with costumes, hair, and make-up, helping the actors to look their part? Were lighting and effects your job? Or maybe you directed the play! Whichever role you took helped the play, certainly. Let us know about these experiences too! I've been involved in three one play, two musicals. The first musical I was on stage crew for, which was awesome--I got to see how everything worked, and realized that the show seriously is NOTHING without the crew. The second was a play, in which I acted. I had a smaller role, but it was my first time on stage, so it was fine by me. I knew after being on stage that one time, I was hooked, and I wouldn't be doing stage crew again. The third production I was in was a musical, in which I acted. Oh, wow. This was amazing. We learned a ton of choreography, and we had an actual seamstress (my second mom, hah) make all of our costumes from scratch, so we looked brilliant. It was fabulous, and we had great turn outs every time. _________________ I love hope something eats you.

| Ooh, fun times. As it turns out, I've been in two 'real' plays. Mostly I just take theatre every year and fail at auditions. Anyhoo, when I was nine years old and in the fourth grade, I played Tweedle Dee in a school production of The Trial of Alice in Wonderland. It was absolutely wonderful, and it made me want to be in many another production. There was so much makeup involved, though...and we had ridiculous costumes. Purple and blue tie dye, guys. And leotards. The next experience was a whole lot different (and a whole lot more serious.) This past year, I played Murderer #3 in my high school's production of Macbeth. Even though I didn't have much of a part, it was a lovely experience to see how the whole rehearsal process worked and learn a little more about theater tech. |

| Ohhh, the stage productions I've been in XD. Since 5th grade, I've been involved in theatre. From 5th grade to the first semester of 8th grade, I was dubbed "the best make-up artist" in Mubilard, the K-8 school I went to. In 8th Grade, for the Spring Musical, my school concocted probably the coolest thing ever: making a musical out of "A Midsummer Night's Dream", and calling it "The Strange Game of Love" XD. Now, I loved that play, and even though it would be fun to do the make-up of the fairies, and such, I had to audition for Helena, my fave character. I got the part, and I freaked out. We went all out; we wrote our own songs, most of the lines, and blocked a lot of our scenes. The final product was amazing, if I do say so myself. At my new school in Cali, we put on an awesome production of "Bye Bye Birdie" in the spring. I was originally just a stage hand, since this school already had a great makeup artist. But then, the girl who was cast as Kim dropped out, for completely selfish reasons (the guy who's playing Hugo is a bad kisser, these clothes make me look fat, I can't act under this light, blah blah blah...). They were trying to fill her role fast, and apparently, I was the first one to come after rehearsal to audition, and I got the part. I had a lot of fun, too; even though I made out with him like 5 times, the guy who played Hugo ended up being one of my closest friends, so, yeah. I heard rumors circulating around the school that the next musical is gonna be A Chorus Line. THAT WOULD BE SO AWESOME! _________________ be crazy. |
