Hey everyone! On the teachers thread I asked to be the fashion design teacher, so now that this thread has been created, I'm going to take a wild guess that I'm at least one of the teachers...

I think that a thread explaining what kind of experience you have with fashion of any sort would be kind of nice. If you've never designed or created anything, that's fine, and you can say that too. You can also request lessons or any thing else that you want to learn about. Not all of the lessons have to be about fashion design, they just need to relate to fashion in general. Whether that be accurate sizing, great stores with great prices, make-up, etc. you can request it, and I'll try and put something together for it. I'll introduce myself with my experience first.

I've always wanted to be a fashion designer, along with being a writer. I've designed and actually made clothes before, and I know how to sew with a sewing machine and by hand pretty well. I'm utterly obbsessed with fashion, too obbsessed for my own good. One of my biggest fashion icons would probably be Gwen Stefani. Not only do I love the music, but I love the way that she's also created so many amazing lines- LAMB and Harajuku Lovers.

Short intro, oh well...

My only experience with fashion design was in school in like 10th grade ^^; . But I've always liked designing clothes, particularly wedding dresses. Whoever designs the dresses for all those movie stars that get married, divorced, and married again must be rich lol.
Oh, and I made a pretty medieval dress with *huge* sleeves for Halloween last year ^^.

I have a fashion design course, I participated in a european fashion contest,I participated in a fashion show here in portugal, I design, plan, cut and sew clothes, I made a photoshoot with a professional photografer (spelling?), I went to premiere Vision in paris.

I'll put some of my scketches in the scketches topic when I find out how you do it...yeah i'm not very good with computers and evrything that involves them

I design, know a lot about sewing (though I don't sew myself), know how to make patterns, and do fun photoshoots with friends in my designs because we can!! I have a couple of fashion textbooks. My main inspirational eras: the twenties and thirties and fifties. I am a thrift/antique store shopaholic because there's always something just waiting to be turned into something. Oh yea. I'll find some of my designs (I'm a crappy artist, but the gist is clear) and try to post them... Friggin yea.

Oh! I know I'm not the teacher, but I have an idea: we should all post the designers we find most inspirational to our work. Like me and Coco Chanel. And Dolche & Gabanna. And Marc Jacobs. And Anna Sui... Please, someone take over...I'm starting to babble!

i dont have much experience with fashion design. i just started making clothing-so far i've made a couple dresses, shirts, skirts, etc. but all were from patterns. i also, tho, started taking old clothing and turning it into something else. i have a sewing machine and take sewing classes. and help do the costumes at my school's performances. but yeah. thats about it. i want to do more, tho!!

When I was little I wanted to be a fashion designer =-] I think it is almost every girl's dream. I used to design a lot of things... Then my creative juices kind of ran dry. I like to design lingerie, but I have no skill whatsoever with a needle and thread =-[

I haven't really ever designed an outfit or anything, but I do model so...Thats as close as I get to fashion lol.

My fashion experience is when I was bored one summer and I decided to create a dress. I worked very hard. It was a summer dress and when I finished it I wore it to my uncle's forth of July party. Everyone thought I was so pretty. And I also created dresses for my dolls. I have also fashined Rennisonce dresses.
