Lesson 3 - Astronomy

Astronomy (from the Greek words astron, "star", and nomos, "law") is the scientific study of celestial objects (such as stars, planets, comets, and galaxies) and phenomena that originate outside the Earth's atmosphere (such as the cosmic background radiation). It is concerned with the evolution, physics, chemistry, meteorology, and motion of celestial objects, as well as the formation and development of the universe.

Lesson 2: Types of Science

So as Rose explained in Lesson 1 about the purpose of science and its many applications, here in Lesson 2 I will explain some of the many different types of science.

One of the most common types of Sciences’ is Physical science. Of which include:

Astronomy:

	~ The study of outer space and everything in it. This includes stars, planets, and galaxies as well as other things. The word astronomy comes from the Greek words astron which means star and nomos ...

What is the purpose of science?

Science attempts to explain the world we live in.

Scientists carry out investigations and collect evidence in order to...

* Explain phenomena (i.e. how and why things happen)

* Solve Problems

Scientific knowledge and understanding can lead to the development of new technology(e.g. in machine, medice and industry), which ...

Discussion:

In Twilight, Alice discusses the venom in their mouth that can paralyze and change a victim.

In Breaking Dawn, Bella has to continually change her contacts because of the venom in her eyes.
