My friend, Mandy, and I had a discussion about this the other day.

(Baisc outline of the conversation.)

Me- The bunnies at the fair look so evil with their little red eyes.
Mandy- Bunnies can't be evil.
Me- Sure they can. Haven't you seen the Rayman Rabid Rabbits commercials?
Mandy- Well, yeah. It sounds all wrong together though.
Me- It's a stupid oxymoron. So when are we going to the fair?

....

We get WAY off topic....

Also, the band Little Big Town is an oxymoron as well.

Basically, two words or a phrase that contradicts each other. Like 'jumbo shrimp' if it's a shrimp it's little but if it's jumbo it's large, so they contradict each other.

if you read some of the ones people have posted it might be easier to understand

civil war is one I just remembered
(because civil means courteous and kind but a war isn't courteous or kind)

Haha, mmkay. I'm pretty crazily sane myself.

I've always liked the paradox of the white and black feet.
There are two tribes native to an island where you're stranded.
One of them, the white feet, always tells the truth,
whereas the other, the black feet, always lie.
So you come across a native and, without looking at his feet, must tell
which tribe he comes from before you trust him.
And you ask him...are you a truthful white foot or a lying black foot?
Naturally, he says "I'm a truthful white foot"...but what is he really?
