Post your thoughts on lighting here. If you have a special setup, describe it!

Here are some tips to remember:

- Try not to go overboard with your lighting, your pictures can end up looking washed up or unprofessional.
- Dim lighting can turn an everyday picture into a scene with a dramatic feel, while bright lights and colors make for a delightful scene and usually put your viewers in a good mood.
- Set the lights to match the mood you are aiming for. Don't use brights if you're trying for a sad portrait, and vice versa.
- It's okay to use colored lights, as long as you don't have different colors blending into one ugly one once the flash goes off.

i always find that black and white setting ususally works pretty good if you are going for something that is really deep and dramatic..and if your computer has this one program, you can take certain things and make them color, while the rest is black and white, it really helps make a focal point, or add a certain edge to your pics!

I really think that the logo for the TA should be selective colored a red ribbon wrapped around an apple that's in black and white

what do you think?

I need to work more with my lighting techniques...I have a Kodak EasyShare C15 3, which is a horrid camera, but it has both black and white, and sepia tone settings on it that help me capture certain messages.

That's cool Smile

The more you practice, the easier it'll be to tell what positions will work best to get the light that suits the image in your mind.

These tips are for natural lighting and flash, I've never used lamps or boxes before Smile

Neither have I Razz

I mostly just fiddle with the flash settings, and angle the camera according to which flash I'm using, and the focal point.

i hate flash. i usually just use natural lighting. for example, if you take pictures with a full moon, it gives a real eerie, spooky feel. yay for the moon.
