Today We Will Be Making...
You will need the following: Light/Grunge by erniemay @LJ, Burn Lights by sanami276 of deviantart.com, Fluffy Clouds, you will also need the pictures for your subject, I used Natalia Vodianova from Avant-Garde Fashion Photography community @ LJ. Remember, though it's nice to use the same subject, using your own is more fun! Also, base for coloring credit to >>Leanne<< @ LJ 1. Open your new 500x200px canvas. Alright, now the first thing you need to do is fill your background somehow. You can do a gradient, fill it with a color or a patter, whatever you want. I used a medium gray color and just filled my whole background with it.
2. Now as you may have figured out, I only used one picture, I just used it twice in different ways. I put the first one on and resized it. I used a soft brush and erased out the background, you don't need to be too picky about this, it's actually not going to matter a whole lot how perfect your erasing is. For the second part, I flipped the subject picture Horizontally, resized and let the lips show. Again, you don't need to be finicky with the erasing.
You should have something like this:
3. Now you take the first texture, the Grunge/Light one and put it on your canvas, resize it to your liking. Erase with a big, soft round brush and erase out a good portion of what's covering your subjects.
4. This part it the part I think's kind of cool. Paste and re-size the same texture you just used, desaturate it. Erase the portions covering your subjects, but now you can let some colors show through by erasing bits over the colored texture underneath.
And this is the portion of the program where you can curse and swear at your computer because PHOTOSHOP JUST FROZE!!!! -smashsmashsmash-
and once you close it down, open it again, wait for it to restart, and redo everything up to this point, you should have something like this:
WOOHOO!!!! ALMOST DONE!!!
5. COLORING TIME! The coloring we will be doing is >>Leanne<<'s
sunny day coloring, we will just be modifying it a bit.
For the sake of our signature, we will be eliminating step one and two, one because our base is already completely prepped and two because our image is already bright enough with the screen layer. (note: if you are using differnt subjects, you may very well need that layer, even if you have to adjust it a bit)

whew! LIKE OMG OUR COLORING IS DONE!!!
6. Just a few things left... Take you clouds and put them ontop of everthing in your coloring on Pin Light 70%, erase bits that cover the face.
you should have something like this:
7. Copy Merged (Ctrl+ A then Ctrl+Shift+C) and paste on top of everything (ctrl+v). Set it to softlight 10%. This darkens things just a tad.
8. Add your Burn Light texture to your signature, resize and set to screen. Erase what you don't want. Merge Everything together. (ctrl+Shift+E)
You should have something like this:
9. Time to add our text. Now if you're fairly new to graphic making, you may be wondering how people get their texted all curved and everything without distorting it. The answer is this step right here!

Now, I want to follow the natural curve that's already in the graphic for my text. So, first, I'm going to take the pen tool.
Your settings should look like this:
Now, we're going to do three seperate points by clicking right where we want them. Now click the middle point and hit Alt. Now if you drag your cursor around (without letting go of Alt) you will find it curves and/or twists depending on which way you drag it, what you're looking for is a nice, smooth curve.
Like this:
10. Now we put the text on this. Well how do we do this? you ask. First, make sure your text is set to left align. Select you font and such and add it. I used the font Kunstler Script on 100pt. All my text is credit to US5 (surprise, surprise huh?) and their song 365 Days.
11.Alright, just a couple more text things to cover. Duplicate the curved text layer you just made and rasterize it. (duplicate= ctrl+J, right click on layer to rasterize type.) Now this will give us the gradient effect on the text. This is because I can never use the gradient overlay on text like this and have it align properly. So we take a soft brush and do one good stroke across the bottom of our text. Now make our original text layer (that we didn't rasterize) #6dcff6, see gradient like! and because of the color it looks almost like it's disappearing!
12. Now, Bobbin, don't shoot! I'm using stroke again. (yes, this is a Bobbin approved no-no but I like it there, plus you can hardly see it....). On your original text layer, stroke around in 1 px with the color we just used. (note: there should be a button at the bottom of your layers panel for this. mine is a small fx). Change your opacity to about 20%.
13. FINAL STEP! ok, you may see that there's some non-texture related text on the right hand side of my subject. This is added text in size 9, Georgia, all caps, bold font with a line spacing of 7. The font is color #ebebeb set to an opacity of around 70% I do believe. It reads: Don't you wait and don't you hesitate, because tomorrow might just be too late. (also text from 365 Days by US5).
AND YOU'RE DONE!!! WOOO!!!
Also made using this tut:
(lyrics from Good Girls Go Bad by Cobra Starship)
As usual, it's always nice to see your results! hope you liked!
