Lesson 2: Types of Science
So as Rose explained in Lesson 1 about the purpose of science and its many applications, here in Lesson 2 I will explain some of the many different types of science.
One of the most common types of Sciences’ is Physical science. Of which include:
Astronomy: ~ The study of outer space and everything in it. This includes stars, planets, and galaxies as well as other things. The word astronomy comes from the Greek words astron which means star and nomos which means law.
Chemistry: ~ The science of chemical elements and compounds, and how these things work together. It is the study of the materials that make up our bodies and everything in the world around us.
Physics: ~ The study of matter and energy in space and time and how they are related to each other.
Earth Science: ~ This is a general term for the different sciences’ that study the earth. The different ones are geography, geology, geophysics and geodesy. These will be explained in a later lesson.

Another category is Biological Science. Of which include:
Biology: ~ The science of life and living things, like plants, animals, fungi, and bacteria.
Physiology: ~ The study of how living things function and the processes involved.
Ecology: ~ The science that studies the interactions of organisms with their environment and with one another. It comes from the Greek words oikos (habitat) and logos (study).

In future lessons we will go into further detail on each of the different sciences, but this leson is just an introductory lesson.
