Any book by Tamora Pierce, especially the Immortals series or the Alanna one. Those two are my favorites series by her.

The Mediator Series by Meg Cabot is a good supernatural-ish book. It's got everything...action, mystery, suspense, romance.

The Maximum Ride books by James Patterson are good, too.

Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz is another vampire book. It's one of those books I started but never finished, yet it was great as far as I got.

Actually...I think there's a book called Vampire Academy, ironically enough. Wink

Agree with Tamara Pierce. (Immortals and Alanna are also my favorites)

There is a book called Vampire Academy, by Richelle Mead, and it pwns. The sequel is called Frostbite and it is equally pwnworthy.

Also agree. The Immortals and The Song of the Lioness series are my fave too Smile I own them all!

The Books I would recommend are:

The Morganvillve Vampires series: Rachel Caine
The Vampire Diaries: L.J. Smith
The Secret Circle : L.J. Smith

Morganville Vamp's are absolutely amazing, just about as good as twilight in my opinion. -- and my friends

The Rachel Morgan series by Kim Harrison (sometimes classified as horror, not YA)
Nightwalker by Jocelynn Drake (not YA)
Stardust by Neil Gaiman
The Rogue Mage series by Faith Hunter (not YA)

These next 4 are all dark fantasy anthologies:
Dates From Hell
Prom Nights From Hell
Holidays Are Hell
Hotter Than Hell
I've been told there is a Weddings Are/From Hell, but I've never read it.

The Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn Trilogy by Tad Williams (that's the name of the trilogy, not the name's of the three books)

books are utterly amazing.. They've been my escape from reality since I was eight years old, and I have never ever stopped loving them. My book shelves are over pouring with them, and I buy a few books a week. If you want to know of any good ones, I have a huge variety and have read them all numerous times and will be able to give some info, and compare. Smile

George R. Martin is pretty good.

I get all my fantasy book recommendations from www.bestfantasybooks.com

It's got a pretty detailed list.

I have but 1 book to recommend as I only ever get the chance to read a few a year.

I love this book

Its called Awake (Are We)? Part 1 Journey to the waterfall Kingdom.

here I pulled the blurb from the back of the book

With the birth of a child comes his impossible destiny. An evil,
dark presence hangs menacingly over the fate of two worlds. A war is
coming and no one from the Wake World is aware of the danger. The
Shadow Night Lord and his dark army have the world of Sublin dangling
on a thread waiting for the time when he can seize the ultimate
power of destruction.
Can the One Dreamer of the Wake World, harness his own
dream energy and stand tall against the power of such an adversary
in Sublin’s darkest hour or will he be seduced by the rewards of such
supremacy? Only the paths he chooses can define the fate of the
worlds

Its a class read for teens to adult. If you love the Harry potters and LOTR story books then this is really for you.

I found it at Amazon

Loving the list above maybe I will be able to get round to reading a few of them too.
