PostSubject: Fantasy Book Recommendations   Mon Jul 02, 2007 8:26 pm

Hi, again!
The title is pretty self-explanatory. If you'd like to recommend a fantasy book, then PM it to me with the author's name and I'll stick it here. To keep this thread neat and easy to navigate, please PM the books, don't post them as replies. I'm going to assume that all books are in the Young Adult category, so there won't be a YA specific thread. If adult books come up, then I will make an Adult Recommendations thread, so long as you let me know that the book is Adult, not YA. Smile

**Please remember to tell me if a book would not count as a Young Adult book! If anyone isn't allowed to read mainstream fiction (as in, not YA) or is uncomfortable reading 'adult' books, etc., I wouldn't want them to start reading one of these books and get a nasty surprise because it has mature content they didn't know was in there. So please let me know if you have concerns about the content of any of the above books so I can put a warning next to them, or if you have concerns/questions about the books in general. Thank you!

I definitely recommend East by Edith Pattou. It is one of my top 5 favorite books that I have ever read. I need to read it again, now that I mention it. The story is VERY roughly based on Beauty and the Beast, but it is somehow completely different. It has a lot more action and fantasy. I loved it to death.

The Dragon Lance series by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman is a good series.
The Ghatti's Tale by Gayle Greeno if you're into telephathic cats.
